The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills published Richmond Park Academy’s Ofsted report on the 8th of January. The school achieved a “Good” judgement in all categories with some very positive feedback from the inspectors.
They stated, “Across a range of subjects, pupils make good progress and where differences in achievement exist, leaders are taking effective action to secure good progress,” and, “Pupils’ behaviour is good and exemplifies the school’s values. Pupils are confident and articulate.”
According to the school’s press release, Mr Mundy-Castle is very encouraged by the report, “Ofsted’s judgement is a recognition of the rapid improvement that RPA has made over the last two years and reflects the confidence that the inspecting team have that the improvements can be sustained by the leadership team.”
This is an exciting time to be part of the RPA family. Of Mr Mundy-Castle the inspection team in the report said, “The new principal has galvanised the school community with his high aspirations to improve outcomes for pupils. He is tenacious and inspires staff.”
This report, together with an improvement in GCSE results of 23%, an uplift in progress from below floor standard to positive, improved A Level results and attendance above the national average are all positive indicators that RPA is moving in the right direction on all fronts.
