You might have seen the sign for Touchstone Bathrooms as you’ve headed down Sheen Lane towards Mortlake, but unless you’ve taken a left into St Leonard’s Road you’re missing a local treat.
Just there, behind the old Threshers, is the fabulous showroom of Touchstone Bathrooms, together with a large warehouse, parking and a warm, open welcome.
It’s a must-visit for anyone considering an extension, or designing and updating their bath- or shower room.
The showroom is a lovely surprise: two floors showcasing baths, showers, mirrors, cabinets, tiles and accessories from some of the finest brands in the business including; Villeroy & Boch, Hansgrohe, Bette, Vogue, Porcelanosa and Showerlab. All displays are beautifully presented to inform and inspire. But Touchstone isn’t all show. There’s much more to them, including a free 3D design service.
“With our complimentary design service we can create a layout of your bathroom and include products based on your selections to show exactly how the space would look and function. You can provide your own dimensions or we can conduct a local site survey and consultation to find out your exact needs,” explains Hollie Bayliss, from Touchstone’s Design and Sales team.
No one will bat an eyelid if you hop into a bath to try it out before you buy and you can even borrow tile samples to try at home. Above all else though, Touchstone’s team will work with you so that you get what you want at the price that suits you.
Having made your choices, Touchstone can order many items for next day delivery, store your purchases until such time as you are ready to receive them and work with your installers to coordinate works. They will even help you find an installer, should you wish.
Owners Tim Simmons and Peter Callaway have been in the building trade for over 25 years, starting out with tile contracting to leading home builders, running the successful Touchstone Worktop supply business and, in September 2013, opening Touchstone Bathrooms here in SW14, not far from Tim’s Barnes home.
“With Tim and Peter’s excellent reputation, experience and contacts, bathrooms were the logical next step,” explains Maria Inkila, Touchstone’s Sales and Marketing Manager. “This location is perfect, both in terms of customers and also the practicalities of deliveries and parking. There is a great deal of local home improvement going on, which is great, although we do still attract customers from further afield, too.”
Maria and Hollie have a common passion for design and new bathroom technology, plus a firm belief that a great bathroom can enhance your life. “If bits of your bathroom just don’t work or you find the colour of the bath or tiles offensive then, instead of being a sanctuary of calm and relaxation, it can be just the opposite.
