Join a new ballroom dancing club in Barnes starting on Tuesday 9th January.
The granddaughter of Percy Charles (Jim) Gray, founder member of Barnes Cricket Club, is almost 100 years later bringing a new kind of sport to Barnes Sports Club, in the form of Ballroom Dancing! Caroline Williams and her dance partner, Paul Parsons aire looking forward to starting a new ballroom dance class at Barnes Sports Club, which will be held once a week from Tuesday 9th January from 7 to 8 pm.
Paul is a highly respected dance teacher, with over 30 years experience teaching adults an extensive range of ballroom styles across all levels of ability. Having gained professional qualifications with three of the world’s leading dance organisations, together with ongoing personal training with former world ballroom champion, Lynette Boyce and Argentine tango maestro, Eduardo Bozzo, Paul has the expertise to offer a blend of patient, friendly, knowledgable and tailored tuition.
Caroline is especially passionate about introducing ballroom dancing to as many people as possible and is excited about the prospect of following in her grandfather’s footsteps. Caroline has many happy childhood memories of being involved in all club activities, as her parents, Ann and John Sealby were active members of the tennis club and Jim Gray, then club president, enjoyed playing bowls.
The new class will be aimed initially at beginner and improver level and they hope to introduce classes for other levels in the very near future.
Launching the class will be Rhythm Foxtrot, Cha Cha Cha and Tango Argentino so if, in January, you will be lamenting the loss of Strictly, then we invite you to try ‘Ballroom in Barnes’ for yourself!
