Autumn term mock exams open for booking with Laidlaw Education

Categories: East Sheen,East Sheen News,News

Book now for the autumn term series of mock exams with Laidlaw Education, the leading provider of tuition, courses, mock exams, assessments and special needs provision in South West London since 1992.

“We have found that children benefit from the experience of a real examination with suitable registration procedure and exam setting” – says Sue Laidlaw, Senior Partner and Founder.

The mock exams take place in East Sheen. The Reasoning mock exam for year 6 children on Saturday 6th October is designed to test cognitive ability (verbal and non-verbal reasoning). This is suitable and recommended for all children sitting 11+ exams.

Many schools have a specific reasoning paper and most others include reasoning type questions in their Maths and English papers. In addition, this is also appropriate for children sitting the 11+ London Consortium exam, which now tests cognitive ability. Please note the actual papers are not returned but Laidlaw Education provide a detailed breakdown of the marks scored for each section, with examples of each question type.

For the other mock exams, children sit papers in English (comprehension and essay) and Maths and papers are returned marked with helpful comments with the average of that cohort.  Different papers are set on each exam date.

Autumn Term 2018 Mock Exam dates are as follows:

11+ (Year 6)
Saturday 6th October: Reasoning
Saturday 10th November: Maths and English
Saturday 1st December: Maths and English

10+ (Year 5) Maths and English
