The sessions explore a wide range of acting techniques. Students learn through improvisation allowing them to develop an understanding of the drama process and expand their imagination and creative input. The classes also encourage the children to express themselves and gain in confidence whilst having fun and making new friends!
The workshops are led by Gerry and Natalie, both professionally trained actors. Natalie has a BA in Drama and studied an MA in Performance at Drama Centre London. Gerry has worked professionally in the industry for over 40 years.
The workshops, held at Thomson House School on Saturdays are small in size, with a maximum of 14, to allow students the best opportunity to fulfill their potential.
Class of 14 hold introductory taster sessions throughout the year. If you would like your child to attend then email Info@classof14.co.uk for more information.
“My child looks forward to drama class all week. It is different from the other clubs around in that it teaches children improvisation and how to think for themselves. He struggled initially because he likes rules but it has taught him to think whether something is working and if it doesn’t work it is OK to make changes. I can’t recommend this class enough.” – Parent Jenny
“Whilst i’m writing to you I should tell you how much my son is enjoying the classes. when I asked him this morning if he wanted to continue with the class next term,he looked at me incredulously (in a dramatic fashion!) that I should ask such a ridiculous question. The answer, lest there be any doubt, is a resounding yes! Incidentally, a feew weeks ago you said that you had pushed the class a lot harder, getting them to dig deeper into the characters- he got into the car after that and described the lesson as “A-MAZING”. – East Sheen parent
“Thank you so much to Natalie and Gerry for another fantastic term. Annabelle loves her Saturday mornings at Drama. You are both so friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic with the children. Annabelle’s confidence has developed so much in such a short period of time and I believe it has really helped her settle in to school life.” – Parent C
