If you donate your warm coat to the Calling London Winter Coat Campaign, they will make sure it gets to someone who really needs it this winter.
How easy can it be? The volunteers at Calling London collect clean, unwanted winter coats that are still in good condition, then sort them into sizes, and then redistribute them to charities across London. They, in turn, hand them out to those Londoners who need them. The donated coats are not sold, simply given out.
Five years on since Chestertons began its collaboration with Calling London and they continue thriving to collect as many coat donations as they can, to support the Calling London Winter Coat Campaign this year.
Established in 2010 by local Kensington resident Frances Manthos, the charity collects warm coats and jackets to distribute to London’s most vulnerable, such as the homeless, the elderly, refugees and children.
As always, the Chestertons branches will act as drop-off points this November, for coat donations of any shape, size and colour.
In 2017 they collected around 2,000 coats. This year they aim to help even more vulnerable Londoners by collecting 2,500 coats through their branches. Donate your unwanted coats throughout November and help keep those in need warm, throughout the cold winter ahead of us!
All coats in clean & good condition welcome. You can drop off your donations at Chestertons Estate Agents in East Sheen until the 30th November (please only do so whilst the branch is open).
They are at 254a Upper Richmond Road, East Sheen SW14 8AG. Open Monday to Friday 9am till 6pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm.
Calling London is a charity that believes every Londoner should have a winter coat to keep them warm through the freezing winter months. They collect the coats, then sort and redistribute them directly to charities that hand them out to those Londoners most in need.
