The lovely Lisa from the Hare and Hounds is embarking on an epic trek in China this October. She is going to walk 70 kilometres over 6 days on remote parts of the Great Wall of China in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
Her inspiration is her adorable Nana, Jean Vivian who has sadly developed Alzheimer’s and lives in a nursing home. Lisa says: “I have chosen to accept this challenge not only for my Nana, but for all the people all over the world and their families who are dealing with the cruelty of this disease. I hope that the money raised from my trek to China and the story behind it will inspire others to challenge themselves. I hope that the money raised will find a cure and I hope that we are able to grow old, like Nana, knowing that the memories we make will last a lifetime.”
Lisa has spent the past months preparing for the trip so that she is physically fit to trek for 6 days continuously over uneven and rough terrain, parts of the Wall with many steps and country paths.
She has chosen to self fund the cost of the trip so any additional donations and sponsorship will go directly to the charity to support their lifesaving work. Donate to Lisa’s fundraiser here.
